I fly to Hong Kong this weekend to lead a four day program designed to facilitate business and investment links between Australia and Asia. We start with a Welcome Dinner on Sunday night, hosted by Citi, at which we will welcome the Federal Minister for Financial Services in Australia, the Honourable Bill Shorten MP, as the guest of honour. Our delegation, which has the full support of the Australian Trade Commission, HKTDC, Invest Hong Kong, Citi and Mallesons Stephen Jaques, consists of 23 financial services professionals who, during the course of an intensive four day program, will attend The Asian Financial Forum in Hong Kong on 17th/18th January 2011.
Our group covers many aspects of the Australian financial services value chain (advice, wealth management, funds management, property investment, technology, research etc.) and, with a mixture of large and small companies looking for investment, partnerships, business development and opportunities for collaboration and co-operation in Hong Kong/China, I believe we can achieve some real outcomes during our visit.
